Tobias SpeedSTR’s set to make stop at Clinton County

Makeyville, PA – The name Tobias is quite popular in the motorsports industry. Along with being a great driver, Rich Tobias has come up with many innovations that have revolutionized the racing world. The latest invention to come out of the Tobias garage is a class called the SpeedSTR. This Friday, June 6th, The Tobias SpeedSTR looks to invade Clinton County Raceway. The Tobias SpeedSTR is an open wheel chassis based on a Sprint car with some modification aimed at leveling the playing field and cutting costs for teams. The class has already gotten off to a fast past start and has seen drivers such as Ray Evernham and Erin Crocker take the wheel. Tobias has been advertising that several ‘mystery drivers’ will take part in the racing action and that they will be revealed as the week goes on. One driver was revealed last Saturday night at the Woodhull Raceway. That driver is none other that modified standout Billy “the kid” Van Pelt. Van Pelt is always a threat to win no matter what car, track, or class he chooses to run. For updates on the rest of the “mystery drivers”, keep an eye on both Clinton County’s website, www.clintoncountyraceway.com and the Tobias SpeedSTR website at www.speedstr.biz.

Friday looks to be a night full of action as the long anticipated debut of the Justice Brothers Inc Super Late Models will also take place. With the first event being rained out, drivers are chomping at the bit for their chance to tackle the 1/3-mile clay oval. Over the past two weeks teams have been coming to practice and tune their cars with hopes they have what it takes to score the $1000 payday. Last years track champ Jeremy Ohl was one of the drivers at practice and looks ready to defend his track title.

Also on the card are the A&A Auto Parts Pro-Stocks, Ron Enders and Son’s 270 Micros, and Randy’s Auto Repair 4-Cylinders. Gates open at 5pm with racing set to start at 7:30. General admission for the five star show is only $11. Clinton County Raceway is located on Route 220 just off the Interstate 80 Interchange.
