Howard finally visits victory lane at Clinton County Raceway
Bouse, Winters, and Fink also hit pay dirt

Mackeyville, PA – Bobby Howard has been a picture of consistency so far in the 2008 season at Clinton County. He’s pulled off four straight runner up finishes until finally breaking through and finding victory lane for his first win of the season. Twenty-six Shore Auto Parts Sprints checked in for the event. Nile Burkes looked to have the bugs worked out of his car as he and Daryl Stimeling brought the field down. The two battled for position for the first few circuits until Burkes jumped the cushion and spun. On the restart the mechanical bug would sting John Smith as he slowed in turn three with front-end suspension damage. When the field got the green Stimeling took off as the field found their groove. Fifth place starter Matt Heimbach worked his way up to the second spot by lap six. By halfway seventh place starter Bob Howard started to work his way up through the field. Stimeling looked like he had the field wired until lap fifteen when he was working his way through lap traffic and found himself facing the wrong way on a one-way street. On the restart Matt Heimbach jumped out to the lead with Howard in tow. It looked as though Heimbach would pick up his first feature of the year until his brakes began to fade. Heimbach would drift high in turn four as the field was looking at two to go, which allowed Howard to grab the lead. Howard took off and never looked back as he crossed the line to take his first checkered of the year. Heimbach would salvage second, with Scott Lutz turning in a very solid run for third, Neil Petock fourth, and Matt Miller charged all the way from fifteenth to take home fifth. George Suprick lead the next group across, with Mike Walter, Jeremy Ohl, Jeff Weaver, and Bill Schoffstall rounding out the top ten.

The A & A Auto Parts pro stocks ran their feature off quickly with John Bouse taking home the win. Bouse took the lead from the get go and never looked back as he fended off challenges from John Myers and Terry Shedden who ended up finishing second and third respectively. Rich Fye had another solid run for fourth and Denny Fourney settled into the fifth spot. Ay Schilling nabbed sixth, Scott Dorman seventh, Kevin Burkhardt eighth, Dave Riddell ninth, and Cliff Berry tenth.

The Ron Enders and Son’s Micro Sprints were out in full force with twenty-five checking in. Selinsgrove regular Brayden Winters made the trip worthwhile, as he would come from the tenth starting spot to take the victory. It wasn’t a walk in the park as both Brian and Scott Kishbaugh hounded his every move. The Kishbaughs couldn’t quite pull off the pass, as they would have to settle for second and third. Jason Houtz and Steve Whary would turn in solid runs as they finished fourth and fifth. Next across the line were Glen Houtz, Tom Tice, Matt Cochran, Derek Johnson, and Greg Steward.

Randy’s Auto Repair 4-cylinder division made their way onto the track for their main event which saw Dave Fink drive to victory lane. Brad Myers made a couple of charges but couldn’t quite grab the lead, as he would settle for second. Chris Snyder turned in a great run for third, Jason Rafter fourth, with Sterling Kepner coming home fifth. Josh Fetters finished sixth, Cody Robbins seventh, Heather Marr eighth, Brian Flook ninth, and James Frye Jr, rounding out the top ten.
