ESS look to challenge Pennsylvania’s best as Clinton County Raceway makes special offer to PA 358 regulars

Mackeyville, PA – The Empire Super Sprints are on the schedule at Clinton County Raceway for Friday, July 11th. In their twenty-five year history ESS has become a well-known, well organized, and very competitive sprint series. With that in mind raceway promoter Vern Wasson scheduled the touring series to events at both Clinton County Raceway and its sister track Woodhull Raceway on back-to-back nights. Wasson wants to make this one of the biggest sprint weekends of the year for the two tracks.

With other PA tracks like Selinsgrove Speedway being off that weekend Wasson is sending out an open invitation to all of the regular Pennsylvania 358 teams in the central PA area to come and compete at his two tracks.

Teams will be competing for a hefty $2000 to win at both venues with $250 just to take the green. Also, if any Central PA driver can go to Woodhull Raceway after competing at Clinton County Raceway and win, they will receive a $1000 bonus. That means one lucky driver could pocket $5000 on the weekend. ESS requires an entry fee of $25 per event but Wasson will pay that for the central PA teams. One rule teams need to take note of is ESS does have a spec tire that must be run on the rear, however Wasson looks to help teams out with that too. If a team competes at the Clinton County Raceway event, he will cover half the cost of a right rear. If a team competes at both events Wasson will cover the entire cost of a right rear tire. Also, Wasson has a deal worked out with a major motel chain located near Woodhull Raceway that will allow teams to stay at a discounted rate.

Several Clinton County regulars have already expressed interest and plan on attending both events. Some notables include Bob Howard, Neil Petock, George Suprick, Matt Miller, Jeff Taylor and many others are looking to find a 358/360 motor.

In order to take advantage of this, teams are asked to please contact Vern Wasson by July 1st to register that way teams will have ample time to receive their tire and information involving this event. For questions or to register, Wasson can be reached throughout the week at 570-398-4052 or by emailing through the tracks website at www.clintoncountyraceway.com.
