THE WOODHULL RACEWAY CRATE SPORTSMAN
DIVISION HEADS SOUTH TO CLINTON COUNTY FOR A SPECIAL JULY 10 EVENT.
(Woodhull, NY) For the second consecutive year, Clinton County Raceway promoter,
Vern Wasson will stage a special event for the Woodhull Raceway Crate Sportsman
Division. Wasson, who also owns and promotes Woodhull was total elated at last
years Crate Sportsman event that Clinton County will see a return engagement
of the popular open wheel division.
Donnie Lawson won last year’s event at Clinton County and is expected
to lead the charge south from their regular Woodhull Raceway stomping grounds.
Other standout Woodhull regulars including Kenny Peoples Jr., Zach Sutton, Bill
VanEtten, Ray Smith, Don Lawson, Nate Delong, Larry Keegan, Chris Silvers, Tony
Hooker and host of others will converge at the Mackeyville, Pa. speed plant
which is located 95 miles south of Woodhull on Rt. 220 near Interstate 80. It
is also rumored that several other Woodhull 358 Modified pilots are picking-up
rides for the Clinton County Crate Sportsman event.
Woodhull will not be running the Crate Sportsman Division the following night,
July 11 meaning this will be the only night during the weekend that the Woodhull
Raceway Crate Sportsman will race.
In addition to the Crate Sportsman Special event also on the Clinton County
Raceway card of events for July 10 will be the 270 Micro Sprints, the mighty
4 Cylinders, Pro-Stocks and a Trophy Race for the Late Model Divisions.
Hot laps for the July 10 event start at 6:30 with racing at 7:00 pm.
